let me say this again: The pvr350's hardware overlay was designed for OSD text only. We are using it as a full Xwindows display. It was never designed to support this and i'm amazed it works as well as it does. It is not a video card, it is a mpeg decoder and capture card. if you want it to play back generic video smoothly, then help the folks who are working on YUV decoding.
