My brand-new PVR-500MCE is giving me static when I try to tune cable channels, and it gives an out-of-phase black and white image from S-Video. The tuners on the card say "NTSC/NTSC-J 23552 rev D292".
I'm using FC3, and I recompiled my kernel from the source rpm (2.6.10-1.741_FC3) to get rid of 4kstacks and the other bad kernel things. After hacking the ATrpms build macros, I built ivtv 0.3.2c from the source rpm. So far, I've only played with one of the tuners. I'm using 'mplayer -ao null /dev/video0' to monitor the video, and I'm using ptune-ui.pl to change channels and inputs. I tried setting the tuner to almost every value from 39 to 52 (I have to admit I don't understand ivtv very well), with no visible effect. I did this by repeatedly using rmmod ivtv tuner; modprobe tuner type=52 && modprobe ivtv ivtv_std=1 (I saw that someone had problems with putting the "tuner=xx" in the modprobe of the ivtv, so I did it via 'modprobe tuner type=xx'.) tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 23552, rev = D292, serial# = 7749933 tveeprom: tuner = <unknown> (idx = 101, type = 4) tveeprom: tuner fmt = <none> (eeprom = 0x00, v4l2 = 0x00000000) tveeprom: audio_processor = MSP3410D (type = 5) Any hints or magic patches to get this working? If it'll help, I can send the syslog and dmesg output. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IntelliVIEW -- Interactive Reporting Tool for open source databases.
