That is odd, as I have *far* better video performance using X11 and the 
PVR350's X driver than I do writing to /dev/video16 or the fb using mplayer.

To repeat, -vo x11 is *much* faster and smoother than -vo ivtv or -vo ivtvosd 
or -vo mpegpes:/dev/video16 (which I believe is more or less identical to -vo 
ivtv).

I'm not sure why but it was certainly surprising.
