Your probebly right, I yust restarted the box without loading the
SAA7127 and it seems to function fine, video and sound are working,
but...
Without the SAA7127 when switching channels or setting any option I get:

Mar  2 17:51:24 freevo kernel: cx25840: *** I2C Write to no cx25840
device 0x43.
Mar  2 17:51:24 freevo kernel: cx25840: I2C sequence write failed,
length 4, ret -121

With SAA7127 loaded there's no problem (actualy there are no syslog
messages at all when switching channels).
