Hi, I originally posted a similar finding in a different group as I had a AMD ASROCK K7 board and it didn't matter if it was windows or linux as soon as I started capture it would reboot after I think 10 seconds.
I read the hardware compatibility blurb on the Hauppauge and it says: Processor requirements: PentiumR IV processor 1.2GHz or faster for TV pause with full screen playback. Seems to me like a VIA incompatibility issue as I tried my PVR500 on a VIA EPIA board as well and had the same issues.. I brought a P4 Shuttle and have never looked back apart from the tuner issues.. Don't know what the answer is. And second my pvr500, just got around to trying them finally, and they randomly reboot my system, seems like possibly heat, they get really hot, it's also a cheap VIA motherboard, anyone else seen this. Really curious, just to help me get into development on these again more, but I am boggled by the confusion of tuner types to use and why the pvr500's just randomly reboot the entire computer during capture.
