Hi all,

Just wanted to share my experience with using the "d" and later versions of ivtv.
I have a PVR-150 and start my card using the following:

modprobe tveeprom
modprobe tuner
modprobe cx25840 audiofmt=1
modprobe wm8775
modprobe ivtv ivtv_std=2 tuner=38 radio=1
sleep 2
/usr/local/bin/ivtvctl -d /dev/video0 -u 1 -f width=720,height=576 -p 6
(I've tried doing the load-then-unload-then-load trick, but that doesn't work for mee at all....)

Then, I switch channels using commands like:

# ptune.pl -f pal-europe-west --tuner-num 0 -c E10

I play the mpeg stream like this:

# mplayer /dev/video -double -monitoraspect 1

This works flawlessly with ivtv-0.3.2d (using ptune-ui.pl seems to give somewhat erratic behaviour - the channels don't always change, and changing channels seem to lag increasingly over time).

Now, just for fun, I yesterday tried the "h" driver to see what improvements had been made.
Video played fine just like before, but audio was nothing but static.

So, I guess that in my case, the ivtv driver hasn't evolved much in the right direction. If someone has the knowledge of what to look for, I'll try find out what goes wrong with "h".

The tuner is of type "Philips PAL/SECAM multi (FM1216ME MK3)"

Cheers,

-Morten
