I sent an email to Hauppauge tech support asking them the difference between the D292 and D492, and if they both used the same MK4 tuner. This was the response:
--- Such information is not giving to us tech support and the engineers will not release it, but after checking on document specs and comparing them with both models, they seem to both have the same Phillips tuners. --- So I'm guessing that they are not privy to that info in tech support. Strange how Hauppauge would indicate that their cards work under MythTV, but they don't really provide any support for drivers. It's just a guess, but I'm thinking the D492 cards are using MK5 tuners, since Philips is indicating they are replacing their MK4 line. Unfortunately there's no MK5 support in the tuner or tveeprom modules yet. Of course, I could be completely wrong here - I have nothing solid to base it on. -Matt -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John Freeman Sent: Thursday, March 17, 2005 8:29 PM To: [email protected] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] PVR-500mce NTSC, ivtv 0.3.2i, tuner type not set Looks like I'm seeing the same thing here.
