I am trying to capture from Saturn TV (cable) here in New Zealand and the
only way I seem able to get a picture is from the composite output from the
cable box. All attempts to get any kind of picture from the tuner input on
my card output from the cable box's RF output result in static. Although I
can get a picture OK from the composite input, its very blocky in MythTV. It
appears to be fine if I simply cat from /dev/video0 and play it through
mplayer though.

Anyone out there have any tips on how I might improve the picture quality?

BTW, I should probably have a go at trying out the tuner with Chris
Kennedy's latest driver (0.3.2m). Will re-post if I have any luck.

For the record, my modprobe.conf is very basic as recommended by Jarod,
consisting of:
