Your probably getting the artifacts because of the signal or the text/color differences. It could be 'line curl' from your TV's input/cables/myth box output too. My Sony 65" Projection's "ClearEdge" technology makes mpeg look like crap, disable that and it doesn't try and "correct" the edges and *cough* surprisingly, the picture looks almost perfect. Well, as good as 480x480 gets at 65" 16:9... I agree, use commercial auto skip at the problem goes away...
