Unless I'm misunderstanding things, ignore the output from -I. It
doesn't work yet for the 150 / 500, since it doesn't use the SAA7115 -
And ivtvctl is specifically looking at the value of the 7115's registers.
Cheers,
Allan.
I also get an empty file when 'dd if=/dev/video1 of=test.mpg'
'dd if=/dev/video0 of=test.mpg' is fine
(the same result with cat)

I've got a similar setup. One working PVR-350, and a new PVR-500mce.
350 works fine. I'm running SuSE 9.2 on a pundit-r. The 500 is
giving me all of the same symptoms you see with the newer versions of
the driver ( q,r,s.). When I use 0.3.2p, I can get video and audio
out of the pvr-500mce tuner 1. Tuner 2 may give me a couple of
frames, may just lock the box. This is with cat /dev/video0 >
/tmp/test_capture.mpg. Using 0.3.2p, I can record off tuner 1 within
mythtv, but locks the system upont trying to do live tv through
mythtv. I get a string of DMA? errors in dmesg and have posted them
previosly to ivtv-devel. When I use the later drivers, cat
/dev/video0 > /tmp/test_capture.mpg also gives me a file size=0, but
no DMA errors.
I get the same results as you for ivtvctl -I -d /dev/video1, no matter
which driver I'm using, so I believe Allan is correct on that point.
I suggest you at least try 0.3.2p, as this is the last driver that
gave me anything out of the tuners.
Mike
Thanks - reverting to 0.3.2p got me partly playing.
For a while I could watch live tv without sound from /dev/video1 (in pip
- and switching). The picture was somewhat blocky.
/dev/video2 was not working.
Trying to make it perfect - I messed up the working /dev/video1 - and
now I get <quote>ivtv: i2c client addr: 0x44 not found!</quote> in dmesg
when doing a dd if=/dev/video1 of=test.mpg
