Did both multiple times. I think I might have a power supply problem and that could be causing the hangs. The wattage I need for all the pieces is in excess of the power supply so I think that may be the culprit (ended up having to use a video card vs the onboard due to driver issues). I have ordered a new power supply and will try that out.
Also tried the removing and reloading the driver.
