After playing with it for a few more hours today, I think I have everything working well. For those that are interested (even though this is a bit off topic), this is how I got the ALSA:default thing working in mythtv: I went to here http://mandrakeusers.org/lofiversion/index.php/t24094.html and copied the asoundrc file devries posted. It is the second one posted. The next post starts with " All right, that one worked!" I put a copy of that file in both the root and mythtv users' home directories and rebooted. Then went into mythtv and typed "ALSA:default" for the output device and "default" as the mixer device. Now my sound stays active even after changing channels.
Sergey, thanks for posting the driver config lines. Once I figured out they had to be in /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv instead of /etc/modules.conf, that is what got me going. -- Dan On 4/16/05, Dan Meehl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > My modules are being installed at /lib/modules/{kernelversion}/extra/. > Also, I still cant figure out where these modules are actually > getting modprobed. > > Ive got video and audio now.
