I just got it working. what worked for me was BusID "PCI:1:8:0" Thanks John and Alan! Especially John for writing the driver. Can't thank you ivtv guys enough.
BTW: here's my lspci snippet:

0:8:x is quite believable on some systems. What I think throws people is the kernel and X disagreement about formats.
