I actually got it to work BUT... it only accuratly receives IR codes
for a few days and then I get nothing. Reloading the modules doesn't bring IR function back to life. I have to reboot to get IR function back, quite annoying. Anyone else seen this behavior? Thanks Rob Gregory J. I just can't remember how I fixed it.What bothers me is that your dmesg seems to indicate that the IR device was correctly identified. I also have the IR Receiver/Blaster on my 150, and one thing that I noticed is that you have to be very careful to make sure the device is actually pushed in all the way. At first I thought it was all the way in, but then I discovered that it was only half way. (Like when you have a stereo jack and you only put it half way in and only get one channel). You have to make sure that the cut-out on the gray plastic bit is facing up, otherwise you won't have enough clearance to get the connector all the way in... And I found you have to shove it in pretty hard. If it's not too much trouble, you might want to take the card out and put the IR piece on it while you can get a good look and see that you're putting it in all the way. The other thing is... make sure you don't limit yourself to just using irw to do your check. If you cat the device, and it's the correct device, you should see some strange characters output to the screen. This will at least help you determine whether it's a hardware/driver issue or a config issue. -G On Sat, 2005-04-23 at 03:02, Steven wrote:I'm still having problems getting the remote to work with my pvr150. After starting lircd I start irw but I don't see any keypresses being received. I replaced the PVR150 with a PVR350 in the same machine, same ivtv driver, same lirc version, same lirc_i2c module and it does work, with irw and in mythtv. Beginning to think there might be a problem with lirc and this specific pvr150 card?!. Maybe a different address for the ir connector??? The ir receiver that came with the PVR150 is one of those that also has an ir transmitter. I tried using that with the PVR350 and it didn't work either. But it probably isn't compatible anyway since the PVR150 ir conector has 4 rings while the one that came with the 350 only has 3 (350 is ir receiver only, 150 is also transmitter). Anyone with ideas what to try next? Anyone got the remote to work with this specific card?
