Shame on me, I must have been sleeping whilst typing the audiofmt= (I did 
notice it was a strange string).

Anyway, specified audiofmt=0x04 and now it works, thanks a lot for pointing out 
the correct option and finding my typo.

Image and sound are not perfect (yet) but at least I got sound going!

Petter gave me the audiofmt=3D0x04 option. This does have impact, audio is not 
muted anymore but it's noise (not even noisy, just noise with some potential 
correlation to the actual sound). I have the same tuner type as Petter, 56.

    Did you actually put 3D in there?  3D is ASCII for '=' and I think 
was messed up by the email transfer encoding.  What you want to try is: 
audiofmt (equalsign) 0x04
