I have recently installed a PVR 150, and it seems to be working except the picture is in black and white and has a lot of static. (Channel changing doesn't work well either.) I assumed the problem is related to the tuner and in dmesg log I see: May 3 22:29:12 jshoor-linux kernel: ivtv: version 0.3.3 (p) loading [...] May 3 22:29:16 jshoor-linux kernel: tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 26032, rev = C199, serial# = 2978936 May 3 22:29:16 jshoor-linux kernel: tveeprom: tuner = <unknown> (idx = 99, type = 0) May 4 10:58:53 jshoor-linux kernel: tveeprom: tuner fmt = NTSC(M) (eeprom = 0x08, v4l2 = 0x00001000) May 4 10:58:53 jshoor-linux kernel: tveeprom: audio_processor = TDA9850 (type = 3) May 4 10:58:53 jshoor-linux kernel: ivtv: Tuner Type 0, Tuner formats 0x00001000, Radio: yes, Model 0x008d1659, Revision 0xd0cf54d7 May 4 10:58:53 jshoor-linux kernel: ivtv: NTSC tuner detected In response to this post, I've added "alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv" to my modprobe.conf to ensure that I am using the "ivtv-provided tveeprom", but I am still seeing the same messages. Was there something else that I needed to do? FYI - The lines below also look strange, but I don't know if their related.
