On my PVR350, composite input, rate=3000:

0.3.4o, dnr_temporal=8, width=480   == ghosts
0.3.4o, dnr_temporal=8, width=720   == no ghosts
0.3.4o, dnr_temporal=0, width=480   == no ghosts
