#0.3.5m: http://www.ivtv.tv/releases/ivtv-0.3/

0.3.4s was the last version i used. i had troubles there, sometime that "double vision" effect and i hand to rmmod ivtv and probe it again. i hope that gets better with the init on each capture :-)

however 0.3.5m autodetected NTSC, but i have a PAL card and signal. autodetection worked with the previous version i tried. it captures fine after forcing it to PAL on insmod.

i have an other problem. not a new one, that behaviour is old:
when i understand that correctly, "ivtvctl -z" should select lang1/2 or stereo mode. it reports errors and has no effect on the audio (no matter if run while capturing or while stopped).

$ ivtvctl -Z
ioctl: VIDIOC_G_TUNER
 current audio mode   : 2
   (stereo 1, lang1 3, lang2 2, mono 0)
 available subchannels: 0x72
   (stereo 0x2, lang1 0x8, lang2 0x4, mono 0x1)

$ ivtvctl -z 3
ioctl: VIDIOC_G_TUNER failed
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_TUNER
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_TUNER failed
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_TUNER

$ ivtvctl -Z
ioctl: VIDIOC_G_TUNER
 current audio mode   : 3
   (stereo 1, lang1 3, lang2 2, mono 0)
 available subchannels: 0x72
   (stereo 0x2, lang1 0x8, lang2 0x4, mono 0x1)

as you see, "current audio mode" changes despite the errors. (the audio in the captured stream shows no change)

Please check this in PAL for teletext, still trying to get it working right
and not missing characters in raw mode, hopefully this buffer offset thing
makes that happen, or closer.

how shoud i check teletext? can you give a list of commands? i tried it several times with older versions of the driver, running alevt, different settings with ivtvctl -b -w -x always resulting in a locked up machine...

"vbi" without parameter segfaults. "vbi /dev/vbi0" gives no output and locks the shell completly (not responding to ctrl+c or ctr+z, not even "kill -9" helps) i see error messages "bad magic number for tty struct ..." in dmesg and one console stopped working. is the driver overwriting kernel memory it hasn't allocated?

anyway, i going to reboot the machine now...

ok it doesn't even shut down... i get lines looking like that "================" quickly scrolling over the console (text mode, it shut down X correctly)
