Try adding:
options ivtv tda9887=0,0 ivtv_debug=1,1
Add your ivtv_first_minor=1 option, though I don't know if you'll
need to offset
the other options with a leading -1, entry.
Adding the tda9887=0,0 made the tuner start working for me with my
PVR500 D492
NTSC card. :)
Ah, thanks a million. tda9887 now shows up in the lsmod and video
and sound appear to be working fine. Now to put everything else
back the way it was before I started tinkering.
