I've noticed that my PVR350 gets rather hot even when it's not encoding or decoding anything. Since my box is a combined Myth frontend/backend the TV-out if constantly on showing the framebuffer I figure that is what's generating the heat.

Is it possible to disable that part with a screensaver, and if so, could that screensaver be disabled when the card is decoding so that it doesn't kick in when you are watching something? I realize it would be hard to do for non-MPEG2 content, of course :)

Bump! =)

Seriously, is this possible? Can the PVR350 TV-out be disabled somehow, possibly as a part of Jarod's Powerbutton script? And would it help reduce the heat put out by the card?
