Your X configuration is broken.
The log file is (usually) saved in /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(0 is replaced with the screen number if you have
multiple X screens).
If you post that log file (or send it to me directly )
and also your Xorg configuration file we can probably
work out what is wrong.
