Yeah I did know that about the A/V on one chip, but I was hoping that's why the cost was lower rather than it just not being on par with the older configuration. I did not try a composite vs composite comparison, but I did check s-video. The S-Video is close in quality between the two cards (although I couldn't do a side by side comparison). You're right though, I should have checked the composite input (since the tuner is also composite). I'll check that out tonight to see if it is a tuner thing. If it isn't, that might mean the problem is just a Y/C separation problem and I might be able to tweak some settings to get a sharper image.
