Total and utter disaster.

In an attempt to fix my sound issues I accidentally ran apt-get upgrade ice1724 instead of apt-get install ice1724. I didn't think to check what was installing. Apparently apt-get upgrade upgrades all installed packages. I was afraid to ctrl-C so I just let it go. Afterwards my system was swiss cheese. SSH, and MythWeb were incommunicado. Mythfrontend started up fine, but when I tried to play a recording or live-tv I got no sound and video for 2 seconds and it would either kick me back to the menu or crash. I was getting the "prebuffering pause" errors followed by an endless stream of "audio buffer overflow, audio data lost" errors. I tried installing knoppmyth r5a16 on my other HD and got to the point where I could get audio and video through the tv-out with "dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16" but in mythfrontend I was still getting the same errors from my old install that I broke, the only difference being that it would continue to play video. My original install was r5a10 and it's still where it was after I broke it. I'd try to do a fresh install of r5a10 since I know it works (or at least worked when I installed it) but I can't find the cd and the iso isn't available anymore. Anyone have any experience with these errors? I've tried several different version of ivtv, all with the same results.
