Thanks for the help so far..., I've made some progress.... As suggested Xv wasn't enabled in my XServer (I'd put Xv in my use flags, but it wont add it without OpenGL for some reason).
After a lengthy rebuild, I've now got the following problem in the Xorg log file --------------- (EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)Framebuffer id from dev /dev/fb0is 0 (EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)open /dev/video48 returned 7 (EE) IVTVDEV_TST(0)get_fb returned 0 fbid 0 --------------- And still no XVideo. The devices are there; mythtv ~ # ls -l /dev/video* lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 10 Jun 22 12:25 /dev/video0 -> v4l/video0 lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 11 Jun 22 12:25 /dev/video16 -> v4l/video16 lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 11 Jun 22 12:25 /dev/video24 -> v4l/video24 lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 11 Jun 22 12:25 /dev/video32 -> v4l/video32 lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 11 Jun 22 12:57 /dev/video48 -> v4l/video48 mythtv ~ # ls -l /dev/v4l/* crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 64 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/radio0 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 224 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/vbi0 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 228 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/vbi4 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 232 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/vbi8 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 0 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/video0 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 16 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/video16 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 24 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/video24 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 32 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/video32 crw-rw---- 1 root video 81, 48 Jan 1 1970 /dev/v4l/video48 According to perror, 7 is "System error: 7 = Argument list too long" Any futher ideas?
