Sorry, this is no help but I would love to get teletext via
my PVR350. Where do I start looking for information
on how etc?

I'm not 100% sure this is the right list, but I can't
get any CC/Teletext in MythTV from the ivtv drivers.
In /dev, I have vbi0..vbi4 and vbi8, and a link
vbi->vbi0. Normally when I boot they all have 600
permissions. My startup scripts chmod them to 666
(twice!), once before starting mythbackend and once
after (i.e. before mythfrontend). While it boots,
when I watch the perms, and vbi0, vbi4, and vbi8
invariably go 600->666->600->666->600, as if something
keeps setting them back to owner-only (root) perms
after I change them.
Whenever I try to start teletext in Myth (0.18.1), I
get the message "CC/TXT disabled", which makes sense I
suppose since the mythtv user isn't even allowed to
read from the devices! I've also added mythtv to the
"video" group (which is the group ownership for vbi*)
but still no luck (notice group perms also go back to
0).
I get these entries in /var/log/messages:
Jun 21 08:17:59 capricorn kernel: ivtv:
ivtv_enc_thread: pid = 4397, itv = 0xf8e
2d720
Jun 21 08:17:59 capricorn kernel: ivtv:
ivtv_enc_vbi_thread: pid = 4398, itv = 0
xf8e2d720
Jun 21 08:17:59 capricorn kernel: ivtv:
ivtv_dec_thread: pid = 4399, itv = 0xf8e
2d720
Jun 21 08:17:59 capricorn kernel: ivtv:
ivtv_dec_vbi_thread: pid = 4400, itv = 0
xf8e2d720
And these when I start recording something in Myth:
Jun 21 08:18:10 capricorn kernel: ivtv: Setup VBI API
header 0x0000bd0d pkts 1 b
uffs 4 ln 24 sz 1456
Jun 21 08:18:10 capricorn kernel: ivtv: Setup VBI
start 0x0018ea04 frames 4 fpi
1 lines 0x000000f1
but nothing in /var/log/mythfrontend.log that I can
see.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I've googled around
for this and I can't find how to address this.
Searching the wiki proved unsuccessful.
Thanks!
