Sorry to hear you're having the same problem. It's a little maddening.

I am trying Keith C's suggestions. I did not have luck with the noapic and nolapic kernel options. Today I unmounted the video directory shared from the backend onto my frontend. NFS is still running on the backend, but it is not getting much traffic. Myth will fall back to transferring video over it's own protocol. So far I have not had any reboots after about four hours of futzing with it.

If this is something you could try, I'd be interested to hear your results. If you are also able to avoid reboots by not using NFS, I'll dig deeper on that path.

This looks like it isn't an ivtv problem, so if you want to email me directly, that's fine.
