Hi- I've got a nforce2 based computer with a pvr-350 and pvr-500mce in it running FC3 and mythtv 0.18.1. Using tv-out of 350 and ivtv 0.3.6r All seems stable except when I try to watch live tv after the machine has been running a while. Might be after I've recorded on one or both of the pvr-500 tuners, and then try to use it again for live tv (say the 350 was busy recording something...) The first time I try to watch live tv- I'll get a freeze, but I can usually escape back to mythtv. The 2nd time seems to kill the backend.
Following are the log from the crash and after that I've copied the ivtv setup. Suggestions? Thanks --Mike --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Log file from an attempt to watch live tv and then a 2nd attempt that kills everything. ivtv: Allocate DMA decoder MPEG stream: 16 x 65536 buffers (1024KB total) mythfrontend: page allocation failure. order:4, mode:0xd0 [<c014fe6f>] __alloc_pages+0x2fc/0x3b8 [<c015366b>] kmem_getpages+0x2a/0x77 [<c0154595>] cache_grow+0xd6/0x2fe [<c013c4ae>] autoremove_wake_function+0x15/0x37 [<c0154a1e>] cache_alloc_refill+0x261/0x319 [<c0154e74>] __kmalloc+0x6b/0x7e [<e0e45d2a>] ivtv_init_buffer+0x2d/0x158 [ivtv] [<e0e45e7f>] ivtv_init_queue_nolock+0x2a/0x80 [ivtv] [<e0e45f0a>] ivtv_init_queues_nolock+0x35/0x55 [ivtv] [<e0e47cf0>] ivtv_stream_alloc+0x130/0x214 [ivtv] [<e0e4abd3>] ivtv_claim_stream+0xe3/0x215 [ivtv] [<e0e4c825>] ivtv_v4l2_write+0x85/0x142 [ivtv] [<c0174045>] vfs_write+0xaf/0x10a [<c017414b>] sys_write+0x41/0x6a [<c0103903>] syscall_call+0x7/0xb ivtv: No memory on buffer alloc! ivtv: Buffer alloc failed! ivtv: Couldn't allocate buffers for decoder MPEG stream cx25840: decoder set picture bright=127 contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0 cx25840: decoder set picture bright=127 contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0 cx25840: decoder set picture bright=127 contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0 cx25840: decoder set picture bright=127 contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0 cx25840: decoder set size 720x480 (from 720x487) -> scale 0x0, filter 0 ivtv: Allocate DMA encoder MPEG stream: 128 x 32768 buffers (4096KB total) ivtv: Setup VBI API header 0x0000bd0d pkts 1 buffs 4 ln 24 sz 1456 ivtv: Setup VBI start 0x0018ea04 frames 4 fpi 1 lines 0x00000140 cx25840: decoder disable output cx25840: decoder enable output cx25840: decoder set norm NTSC cx25840: decoder set input (6) cx25840: now setting Tuner input cx25840: set audio input (0) ivtv: Allocate DMA decoder MPEG stream: 16 x 65536 buffers (1024KB total) ivtv: Allocate DMA decoder VBI stream: 512 x 2048 buffers (1024KB total) ivtv: Decoder VBI RE-Insert start 0x0019ac00 size 0x0000be00 type 0 attempt to access beyond end of device hdb2: rw=0, want=37967221832328, limit=386218665 I/O error in filesystem ("hdb2") meta-data dev hdb2 block 0x2287eec53a81 ("xfs_trans_read_buf") error 5 buf count 512 xfs_force_shutdown(hdb2,0x1) called from line 4073 of file fs/xfs/xfs_bmap.c.
