Tried .3.6y patched with the latest patch by ian that you posted, together with the new xorg driver.

I've tested this with mythtv's internal video player.
Things got a lot better with this patch. Almost all videos I've tried to play were centered nicely, scaled as large as possible, but maintaining their aspect ratio. The only ones that weren't doing well were a couple of 352x240 videos. These looked like they were scaled to wide, and had their left and right edges chopped off.

The only downside of this all is that whatever you guys seems to be doing with the scaling, also is affecting the OSD. when playing a video of my native resolution 720x576, the osd is fine.. but if things get scaled, the osd looks like it gets scaled with it, not only causing it to look funny, but also flickery.

I know mythtv is not yet on the radar as far as first things first are concerned, but I'd figure I'd send you this feedback anyway.
