I'm working on a license to allow free distribution of the firmware in
such forms (e.g. source blobs). Anyone interested can join the ivtv
thinks-I-am-a-lawyer taskforce :)

Hauppauge's unofficial statement is to freely redistribute the
firmware. It will become offcial with such a license.
