I browsed through the archives and saw that you already found this link ;-) My impression is that you enabled too many things with ivtvctl. There could be some conflicting things (raw+teletext+...?). Try the bare minimum, e.g.: ivtvctl -b teletext -x 1 Also record a stream outside myth (cat /dev/video0 >test.mpg) and check with a hex viewer if you can find the magic cookies 'ITV0' and 'itv0'. If so, then the vbi stream is embedded. Start the mythtv player directly (mythtv test.mpg) to test teletext with this cat-ed file.
