I had this happen when the video resolution is larger than the maximum
size the decoder on the card can support. Try using "mplayer -vo xv
-vf scale=-2:480" or "mplayer -vo xv -vf scale=720:-2" to prescale the
video to an acceptable size. If you're pal rather than ntsc change
that 480 to whatever the height is for pal tv.
