Hi all,

We have used ivtv and two PVR-350 to successfully to stream mpeg-2
Video/Audio data over the network using on one side the analog composite
input (camera) and on the other side the analog composite output (TV
screen). As long as one wants to transport surveillance data or a movie,
this solution just works fine.

Now the problem is that if the task is to control a camera or talk to
someone on the other end, the 2-3 seconds delay in our system is too much.
I know that the PVR-350 and its drivers weren't initially made for such an
application. But maybe someone of the ivtv video cracks can help.

- Does someone know whether this delay is a hardware constant one needs to
live with?
- Is there is any possibility (driver change, buffer sizes, raw mode etc.)
to decrease this delay?
- Is it already planned to implement the functionality of /dev/video48
(raw video output)?
- Has anyone ever used a PVR-350 lets say for a video conference or
something similar?

Any hint greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
Rolf
