I've seen *one* problem that might be related to firmware.

When I use the latest firmware pair for the 350 (which has newer
encoder firmware but the same decoder firmware as the recommended),
new recordings are without sound after the box has been up for a few
days. This is *not* tuner-related as I'm using the svideo+audio inputs
on the card.

When this occurs, I still get sound when playing old recordings so the
decoder is fine but all new recordings past a certain time have no
sound. A reboot fixes the problem. Don't recall ever seeing this with
the recommended firmware... and it appears to be independent of ivtv
driver version.
