Please allow me to add something new...after running
AlsaMixer and noticing that [Line] was muted, I
un-muted it and shortly thereafter was able to hear
audio in recorded programs.

I still, however, have static when I record on the
PVR-350 (video0), and no audio in Live TV.

Weird, eh?  And troubling, deeply troubling...
