Hi All,

After googling a lot I thought lets ask - so if the question does not belong here, I am sorry.

I have ubuntu on a amd64 with a pvr350 card.  Sometimes I am lucky and I get signal when I use ivtv-tune (so driver works etc):

    ivtv-tune -c1 -f216.00

I get the message '... (signal detected)' - and with mplayer I can watch the channel. Whoehoe!

But ...

My first question is - why does it work half the time? I looked trhough the source (yes :-) ) and without delving deeper I cannot tell why the condition vt.signal == 0 rises. But sometimes I have and sometimes I dont have signal...

The second one is: how do I set a custom frequency table? There's no way to do that I believe. Why are the frequeny tables hardcoded and not files?

The exe's or script I tried (ivtvctl, ivtv-tune, v4l-conf, xawtv, ptune.pl etc) dont have the option (or I missed it).

The config files don't have it either:
.xawtvrc does not have a 'frequency=' paramter on a channel, it references ivtv's
.ivtvrc has - but this is not read by anything
.ivtv-tune references the build in ones

I dont know, but how does myhttv (or alike) do this? Calling ptune.pl behind the scenes with vars from mysql? (Seems brittle ...)

Can someone enlighten me?

Cheers, Dirk
