I've tested on an amd64!

Can you try this:

cp v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw.safe
head -c 262144 v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw.safe >v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw

and rmmod ivtv/modprobe ivtv again?
