Yesterday on nelson, my mythfrontend/mythbackend/filserver, mythfrontend froze during play back of a recording at 00:23:46. I killed the frontend, it became defunct. I started another frontend on nelson seeked ahead to 00:23:46 and the second mythfrontend froze and became defunct also. I went to another PC lisa and started mythfrontend, seeked ahead to 00:23:46 and mythfrontend froze and became defunct. On lisa I tried to play the file directly using mplayer via nfs and mplayer froze at 00:23:46. I had to kill mplayer which became defunct. After a reboot of nelson, I managed to play the file straight through no problem. I have been able to jump past the problem spots and continue watching. I do not experience the sound loss though. Also, just to check I seeked to just before the freeze and watched right over it. It appears the reboot on nelson reset something? I am trying to figure out if the recording is corrupt or if mpeg decoder is finicky. It looks as though the decoder can't read past a certain point in the video and simply pauses there. This has happened several times with different recordings.
