if you go into the driver directory and type:
make
you will build the modules and to install type:
make install
I'm not sure about 0.4.2 if it require the more up to date v4l or not, but
that you have to run:
make all
in the main directory, then it should download the v4l from CVS (you need
to have cvs client installed) and then compile and install the drivers for
the v4l (don't include the ivtv driver).
