Hello,

I recently purchased an Hauppauge PVR-500. I installed it on a SuSE 10.0
machine, followed the howto's on the wiki (very well written, btw), and it
was working, I used the 0.4.2 driver. Had some issues with mythtv and sound
(but that's for another mailing list), and the second tuner (/dev/video1) was
blurry.

I thought I would try a precompiled rpm for the driver (0.3.7.c) to see if
that did anything for the second tuner. This is where the problems start.
After installing the RPM all I get is this error:

FATAL: Error inserting ivtv
(/lib/modules/2.6.13-15-default/kernel/drivers/media/video/ivtv.ko): Unknown
symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

So I thought, "Hey I'll just remove the RPM and redo the howto." I was wrong
I get that same exact error. Retried with 0.4.1 and I get the same thing.

Someone please help, I'm practically going bald from pulling out my hair on
this one.
-Shem

Here is the relevant (but unhelpful) dmesg:

ivtv: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.
ivtv: Unknown symbol video_unregister_device
ivtv: Unknown symbol video_device_alloc
ivtv: Unknown symbol video_register_device
ivtv: Unknown symbol video_usercopy
ivtv: Unknown symbol video_device_release
