Hi all,

I upgraded my Myth machine from ivtv-0.4.0 to 0.4.2 yesterday because I
wanted to fix an audio issue with one of my tuners (a PVR-150,
cohabitating with a -250 and a -350). The install seemed to go
smoothly, copied the firmware files to the hotplug folder and all that.
After modprobe'ing ivtv, everything looked ok so I restarted the machine
(since I had installed as 'root')

The reboot failed to launch X, and so I ssh'd in as root to find that
ivtv was not loaded - I modprobe'd it again, and ran startx as root -
from there I could launch Myth and the system worked for the most part -
Scheduled recordings have so far come off without a problem. However, I
have issues that I hope you kind souls can help me with:

1) I don't know why I cannot run startx as user 'myth' and carry on with
my normal startup routine, will search for an X log and see what it has
to say.

2) Once I handroll my way into Myth, I have some display issues that
weren't there before - I cannot draw the 'Menu' or 'Browse Channel'
overlays in Live TV. After a few seconds, I get an error reading
"Cannot render video" and then I'm out of Live TV.

Syslog shows that my PVR-150 was identified as a 250. I don't know that
this is related to my startx problem, but I can't imagine it's a good
sign. The IVTV section of syslog is 110 lines long, I'll post it as a
second email so as not to be too lengthy here.

Sorry for the hasty email, but I've got to get the machine set up to
watch '24' - If anyone can suggest another file/program I can read or
run to chase down my problems, I would be very grateful!

Best regards,
    Steve
