Hi all,

I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 card and my goal is the scheduled tv
recording.

I have the followings:
- a proper .xawtv file
- a script to set the frequency: /usr/bin/settv param_freq
- an other script to record: /usr/bin/recordtv param_freq param_duration
(this script calls the settv script)
- a properly working crontab

In the following 'one logs in' means 'someone logs into gnome'.

Cases:

1) someone logs in and immediately out: the scheduled recroding begins to
run and creates a good mpeg file

2) pc starts and noone logs in: the scheduled recording runs wrong, the
mpeg file's size is 0 bytes and the syslog is full with errors: kernel:
ivtv0 warning: i2c client addr: 0x40 not found for command 0x402c5639!

3) gdm makes someone to log in (let's say after 30 secs): see case 2.

The scripts make logs with 'timestamps' so I can check them running.
During the recordig nothing crashes, everyting seems fine but I have those
i2c errors in the syslog.

I've tried Fedora C4 (reinstalled several times) and now Ubuntu 5.10
(fresh install). I followed the distro-specific howtos and tried to
install the driver by myself but the result remained the same. The driver
works, I can rercord tv but only if I'm (or anyone else is) logged in
manually.

I use kernel v2.6.15.4 (tried original FC4 driver, original ubuntu driver)
and now this is my compilation (works fine).

Does anyone have any suggestions why is this happening to me? I can't
decide if this is a driver issue or something linux specific thing, but
all my scheduled programs run well, except these scripts.

Thanks,

zsombor
