Thank you for the very interesting link! It gave a good explanation to why the IVTV driver wants to change the latency timer settings. The article also mentions this paper http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-hw2.html that gives an even more detailed description of how to solve some problems related to settings of PCI latency timers.

Unfortunately I have not yet been able to solve my problems without manually setting the latency timer for the PVR-500 back to 32. I would really appreciate if someone could give me a pointer to how to stop the IVTV driver from changing the timer to 64 at initiation! ...or come up with a better solution to how to fix my capturing problems?
