Well over the weekend I verified that Mythtv was setup for NTSC, ran a
new cable from the demarc to eliminate cabling issues, and verified that
disabling mythtv from starting and rebooting I have the same issue with
ivtv-tune and cat'ing /dev/video0 to a file.
the ivtv module as well as the cx25840 module didn't like ntsc=m as an
option, and I've been unable to locate anything on disabling/forcing the
auto detection of the audio format.
It looks like a 2.6.16-1 kernel and ivtv 0.6.1 are on atrpms so I might
try that tonight.
For what it's worth it seems like it's a transient signal on the line
that causes the problem, as I did several tests this weekend scheduling
things to record on tuner0 that are on problem channels and they worked
fine. Of course when a schedule recording came up that I actually
wanted it didn't have audio :).
Anyone have any other thoughts on things I can try?
