I upgraded to FC5 over the weekend and after working through a few small
bumps it was overall a success.  The one unresolved issue now is ivtv.

Ivtv appears to be loading just fine but X won't display using the
PVR-350 output.  I get a blip on the tv as the driver loads so I know
the wiring is hooked up correctly.  I made the same changes to xorg.conf
as I had that worked under FC4 and when X starts, everything appears to
be running happily.  I can even run x11vnc and connect to the session
remotely to see it... but nothing comes up on either my tv or my
monitor.  What the heck could it be?

What's in your xorg.conf ?

What do you see in xorg.0.log?

I don't see anything in /var/log/messages that indicates a problem with modules or hardware, so it seems likely that it's a configuration issue. Are you using the right framebuffer device? (/dev/fb1)

After working with it even more, I've come to the conclusion that it's not X related.

When running dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k I do get audio, but no video.

I've also discovered that the saa7127 test image does not work either.  When I modprobe or rmmod saa7127 the screen will give a quick flicker and (although I may be going crazy by now) I think I'm seeing grayscale color bars for that quick flash when setting test_image=1.

My kernel is 2.6.16-1.2080_FC5 and I've tried both the latest AT rpms and pulling the latest 6.0 branch from subversion and compiling it myself.  Have also tried both the firmware rpms and downloading and installing them manually.  All give the same results.

I've tried changing between fb0 and fb1 (although fb1 is the correct framebuffer) just for the heck of it.

I'm really running out of ideas here.

Ivtv was running like a champ under FC4.  Now kicking myself for doing the upgrade.

Any ideas on something else to try?

Mark
