Hi Kyrre, I must admit I'm no expert, but a few times when I've wanted to record a late program I've started it using cat /dev/video0 > myvideo.mpg
I then used ps -aux to list all jobs and wrote down the job number. I then used crontab and the kill command to stop that job a bit after the film finished, then I could go to bed and leave it going.
