OK, I tried a couple of different things: I tried typing "mplayer /dev/video0" at the command prompt, both as a regular user and as root, and I got a segmentation fault. Then I tried typing "cat /dev/video0 >/video/recordings/testfile.avi" and it came back with a zero-length file. Something must have gone wrong in the settings, but I don't know what. Any ideas?
