Hi,

For the time being I installed suse 9.3. After deleting the
existing suse-ivtv kernel-modules and installing ivtv-4.4
from source. It is now working.

For suse 10.0, I am now thinking that the nvidia-driver is causing
trouble. It may also be that the kernel version is too new for the
ivtv-version. I think 3.7 comes standard, but also in ivtv-4.4 I found
a line in the Makefile checking for kernel versions.
My first problem is now that for suse 10.0 there are more unstable programs
that are not related to tv. E.g. if I view a bit of a divx movie and then run
a game everything freezes. When, I get this fixed I will continue with ivtv.

Another issue for me with suse 10.0 is that it will automatically detect a
64bit processor and install 64bit linux for that. I am not sure if this is
affecting something as well.

Best regards,

  Martin
