I will definitely look at this, though I don't think it will help.  I
did try specifying the firmware file it was looking for when modprobing,
and it still says it cannot load it.  It prints the whole path I give it
in the modprobe, so I know its getting the filename. The strange thing
is this was working perfectly for serveral months.
