There were some audio fixes in the cx25840 kernel
module in ivtv 0.4.5 and also in the latest cx25840
firmware (HcwMakoC.ROM, size = 16382 bytes).
Those fixes seemed to help some cases of what has
often been refered to as "tinny audio".
Maybe the fixes only apply to tuner audio and not
s-video, but it might be worth a try.
