I have tried the cheap ones from Radio Shack, and they're crap. On a recommendation from someone on the MythTV list, I went to Circuit City and bought a Motorola signal amplifier. The aren't cheap at $90 (I got a $30 rebate off of that, wouldn't surprise me if they are selling them for $60 now), but they work.
